Never Mind Impeachment. Keep your Eyes on the Prize.

Conservatives and Republicans would be unwise to pursue President Obama's impeachment
as my colleague Bruce Walker today argues.

The odds are the effort would backfire, and

there is a much more important goal
that should be at the center of our political strategy:
sweeping Democrats out of office in 2014 and 2016
in numbers sufficient to enact structural reforms,
including replacement of the tax system and junking the IRS
and outlawing public employee unions.

President Obama is handing his opponents the means, if only they have the wit to pursue the bigger goal.

..... Somewhere along the line, Hillary and Obama will start behaving like two scorpions in a bottle, desperate to escape blame for the Benghazi slaughter and lies.

Perhaps we will even learn where Obama was the night of 9/11/12.

If impeachment is to be raised, and I don't rule it out in the long run, it will have to be a bipartisan affair. Otherwise, Obama will become a martyr to crazed Republicans, out to lynch-by-impeachment the first black president, and race relations will be further shattered.

Obama is terrible president, to be sure, but we have to not just get rid of him but undo the damage he and the progressives have wrought during his presidency and before.

Above all, Republicans should avoid being seen as out to get Obama. As we saw in the case of the Clinton impeachment, a good talker like Clinton or Obama can turn the tables on those who appear to be zealous enemies operating out of animus.

Obama is not the disease.

He is merely the most obvious symptom. If we don't sweep out his people in 2014, that's when you'll see the full-blown disease.

Agreed, we need to focus on policy and overhaul...not reform, but overhaul to eliminate these all-powerful bureaucracies. Downside the hell out of the IRS, simplify the tax code. Eliminate any potential for things like this to happen again. It is creeping government control that allows it. Firing or jailing a couple people does not address the problem, it simply has identified the symptom. We have to eliminate the problems. These are ideas that will attract voters.

Rush Limbaugh went on and on about this yesterday. He asserts that America will never, never, ever...impeach its first black president.

Indeed I agree and, indeed again, this was part of the plan.

We best continue on the path we’re on, discredit this guy every which way until he’s such a lame duck we let him limp to the end of his term.

AND...of course....get rid of the Democrats by laying this all on them. Because THEY are the ones who brought us this regime.

If the GOP is hoping to win big in 2014, it better attempt to do a helluva better job with some of its core base supporters.

There are 21.8 million armed forces veterans in the United States.

There are 1.5 million members on active duty, 860,000 members in the Reserve, and 500,000 in the National Guard. There are 800,000 DoD civilians, and millions working for the Defense Industry - 90% of whom are about to take a 20% pay cut. Thousand of defense workers have been laid off, or are facing lay offs.

The GOP has abandoned the military. The DoD was cut $487 Billion BEFORE Sequestration took another $650 Billion, and still the GOP cheers this travesty on.

How the GOP Learned to Love Defense Cuts Read more at http://www.thefiscaltimes.com/Articles/2013/03/13/How-the-GOP-Learned-to-Love-Defense-Cuts.aspx#LWwLTofXQ7Ej1CqA.99

GOP support among the military is falling like a rock.

Military no less conservative, but less Republican, survey finds

The GOP has become the party of military cuts instead of a strong national defense. It has become the party of austerity instead of strong economic growth.

Other troops questioned by Military Times suggested the recent budget battles on Capitol Hill, in which a growing number of Republicans are coming out in support of cutting the defense budget, also have eroded some support for the party. “Republicans kind of used to be seen as the party that took care of the military,” said one Army sergeant first class. “But recently, there’s a feeling that that has kind of shifted, and I don’t think people feel that the party is really looking out for the military the way it used to.”

Prior to myths around here, military members, pro-defense patriots, and veterans STILL vote, and vote in large numbers.

The GOP is building rainbow bridges in the sky, thinking that if it passes "Immigration Reform" and hands out more Trillions to illegal immigrants, it will get more mythical Hispanic voters.

The party better remember who it is betraying, and pray the military and veterans don't read the news or possess the ability to realize they have been stabbed in the back.

Just spitballing here, why not play by the same Alinsky rules they do? One of Uncle Saul's rules was to make the opposition abide by their own rules.

If we demand that Obozo care be implemented on schedule at lower cost and cover everyone it will collapse under its own weight in two years, just in time for the next election. The Conservatives step in with a flat tax, tort reform, portable coverage that can be sold across state lines and we are heroes.
