Why can’t there be ‘tornado days’ where there is no school (like a snow day?). They knew there were going to be more tornadoes today in the area.

In Oklahoma? If they did that they would miss half their school days in April and May. Simply not practical - days with forecasts like today, 99.9% of the time, the school won't get hit. And usually schools are safer places than homes for kids to shelter.

From the look of the devastation, they may have been safer at school than at home. The whole town is gone. Prayers up for them
