Indeed. When Christ returns he will not come as a lamb - but rather the wielder of a flaming sword.
My concern with your posts is the vitriol. Christ made it pretty clear that "they will know us by our - vitriol?" No - by our love.
Our salvation is NOT our own - it was paid for by ANOTHER. And the effectiveness of that payment is such that it covers ALL sin - even the repentant homosexual.
Don't get me wrong - the gay MOVEMENT must be fought. However, the individual sinner must be embraced.
Thank you for your thoughtful and well written post.
>> the gay MOVEMENT must be fought. However, the individual sinner must be embraced.
Each of these statements is true.
In between the two, however, is the individual homosexual who wants — in some cases, demands — to be embraced unconditionally as a Christian, but DOES NOT want or expect to repent of their sin. Instead, they want the church to ACKNOWLEDGE and ENDORSE their sinful lifestyle as “OK”.
Don’t get me wrong — the same applies to certain fornicators, drunkards, revilers, etc. in the church today who, like certain homosexuals, desire NOT to repent and turn from their (equally wicked) unrighteousness — instead, desiring that fellow Christians approve of their ways, without judgment, as just another “alternative lifestyle”.
The body of Christ must carefully deal with such, as provided for in Scripture. This calls for exercising judgment. Not damning judgment, but discriminatory judgment.
