I'll suggest that the Tea Party was really split between several candidates. The Richmond Tea Party and I believe Federation co-founder Jamie Radkte including the great activist Donna Holt supported Supervisor Susan Stimpson. The Middle Resolution that worked with some Tea Party groups evaluated the L.G. candidates and had Corey Stewart one, Pete Snyder two, and E. W. Jackson three. Other Tea Party groups supported other candidates indirectly including E. W. Jackson. In one sense, Tea Party groups can't endorse a candidate - ask the IRS.

The Tea Party Federation including the Richmond Tea Party endorsed Stewart and Obenshain. Yes, Donna endorsed Stimpson. Donna is a Libertarian and Campaign for Liberty chairperson for VA. She is a big Ron and Rand Paul supporter.

Middle Resolution and the Tea Party Federation held interviews of all the candidates for LtGov and AG. You can view the interviews on the Internet. The vast majority of Tea Party groups are part of the Federation. A representative of each Tea Party federation member participated in the interview process along with Middle Resolution.

I will also argue that at least 60% of the folks at the Convention yesterday have either direct or indirect ties to their local Tea Party organizations. They voted for the Bishop - so I see it really as a win for the Tea Party organizations, minus some of their leaders.

Pure fantasy. I know for a fact that there was a major effort during the voting process to defeat Jackson by the Tea Party federation and MR people. The fear is that Jackson will not be a serious candidate and lacks the money and organization to run a real campaign.

There is no doubt that this was a serious defeat for the establishment similar to Jeff Frederick's victory as RPV Chairman.

BTW, Corey Stewart walked hand-in-hand with Bishop Jackson around the Coliseum just before the last ballot.

I was there and expected nothing less from Corey who was my choice.

Corey who was my choice...

I love Corey Stewart, too. I hope he runs again.

Don't forget that Jamie was supporting Susan Stimpson along with a number of other Tea Party supporters. Donna also works with the Tea Party and has a great amount of respect within various organizations especially due to her work on Agenda 21. Neither are to be taken lightly and took Tea Party support to Susan. The Tea Party organizations did not walk in lock step with the Middle Resolution/RTP assessment. I'm very familiar with the interviews and candidate analysis they did.

I'm not sure what you are suggesting is pure fantasy. I will assume that it is the concept of voting for Bishop Jackson. If you concur that at least 60% of the folks in the Coliseum has some type of relationship to Tea Parties, like myself and over 80% in my delegation - and Bishop Jackson received 58% of the vote on the last ballot, then a lot of Tea Party Patriots voted for Jackson. I know when we learned that the Middle Resolution had jumped to Pete Snyder on the last vote, most of the remaining Tea Party folks went to Jackson. This is also true when Susan dropped out and Jamie supported Pete. More Tea Party went to Jackson. Pete Snyder was not the choice of individual Tea Party folks and they weren't going to go to Snyder.

I was a Corey supporter too. I loved what he did at the end. It killed Pete.

Which delegation were you in? I was in Goochland - and per an earlier thread, we need to get Richmond area Freepers together.
