Language is very important to me and I’m such a binary thinker that I can have “syntax errors” just talking to people. “Tape” is one of those words. Instead of using the word “recording”, the word “tape” is used incessently by both the media and people on the street to refer to a recording.

I’ve actually had to consciously re-interpret what they mean when they use the word. What is comical about that is that I have tons of cassette and open reel tapes and players/recorders. It’s a hobby of mine.

Maybe that’s the problem. When someone says the need to analyze the “tapes” I think, “Cool! They are into vintage stuff too!”
