Thanks, Old Sarge! I found that speech, and the quote from 1 Maccabees, in a search through Churchill speeches of WWII. I was very taken with it and I've incorporated it in many of my graphics.

If I should die, think only this of me: That there's some corner of a foreign field That is forever England. There shall be In that rich earth a richer dust concealed; A dust whom England bore, shaped, made aware, Gave, once, her flowers to love, her ways to roam; A body of England's, breathing English air, Washed by the rivers, blest by suns of home. And think, this heart, all evil shed away, A pulse in the eternal mind, no less Gives somewhere back the thoughts by England given; Her sights and sounds; dreams happy as her day; And laughter, learnt of friends; and gentleness, In hearts at peace, under an English heaven.

We made breakfast for her - omelets, bacon and sausage. John Man cooked a quartet of think New York Strips on the grill - two-inchers - outstanding!
I got her a tablet with case that she's enjoying - no need for a smartphone now.

I hope you had a good one, too, and your snow is melted and nice spring weather is all you get until summer. LOL

Indeed! He often described himself as an Anglo-American Alliance!
Churchill was a most influential figure for me back in my formative years, when I read every book of history that I could lay my hands on, including, of course, his History of the English-Speaking Peoples and the Second World War.
It's no surprise to me that Obama banished his bust from the Oval Office. How could anyone bear to have the face of a man peering at him every day whose long, distinguished career in the service of Freedom, the interests of societal order, and the preservation of Western Civilization stands as a stinging chastisement, refutation and condemnation of the class-strife, discord and misrule that Obama and his ilk seek to inflict on us all?
