The Hebrew Bible, in particular the Torah (The Five Books of Moses), has done more to civilize the world than any other book or idea in history. It is the Hebrew Bible that gave humanity such ideas as a universal, moral, loving God; ethical obligations to this God; the need for history to move forward to moral and spiritual redemption; the belief that history has meaning; and the notion that human freedom and social justice are the divinely desired states for all people. It gave the world the Ten Commandments, ethical monotheism, and the concept of holiness (the goal of raising human beings from the animal-like to the God-like). Therefore, when this Bible makes strong moral proclamations, I listen with great respect. And regarding male homosexuality female homosexuality is not mentioned this Bible speaks in such clear and direct language that one does not have to be a religious fundamentalist in order to be influenced by its views. All that is necessary is to consider oneself a serious Jew or Christian.
Jews or Christians who take the Bible's views on homosexuality seriously are not obligated to prove that they are not fundamentalists or literalists, let alone bigots (though, of course, people have used the Bible to defend bigotry). Rather, those who claim homosexuality is compatible with Judaism or Christianity bear the burden of proof to reconcile this view with their Bible. Given the unambiguous nature of the biblical attitude toward homosexuality, however, such a reconciliation is not possible. All that is possible is to declare: "I am aware that the Bible condemns homosexuality, and I consider the Bible wrong." That would be an intellectually honest approach. But this approach leads to another problem.

It is long and complicated...but it explains why homosexuality has no place in modernity.
It explains why homosexuality is doomed to fail...but may bring us all down with it.
I implore you to be patient. Read this article and you will see why I posted it.
To everyone else...yes, it is a long read.
But it explains where and why our culture is under attack.
As the Bible says, this is not a battle of flesh and blood...but
Ephesians 6:12For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
My choice for Hyperbole of the Year.
If I may be so pushy...please read the article and then comment thereon.
think of the actual and physical processes of the acts involved in fitting the definition and you can see why the Living God has declared it sinful and unacceptable . Think of the motivations that lead to those acts , think of the outcomes of the lifestyle that is dominated by those acts.
There was a time when an entire society turned a blind eye , or willfully immersed itself in the hedonism involved . It was destroyed . Utterly
Is anything , any indulgence , worth that ?
I think not .
Fear God , live right . Don’t make stupid sensuous excuses for vile acts . They anger the Living God
Lost me right there. I stopped reading.
Second choice.
I assume you are referring to Greek and Roman civilization.
In which case it is relevant to point out that the maximum acceptance of homosexuality in each of these societies coincided pretty closely with what is generally considered their Golden Ages. Whereas their decline and fall lined up with the decline popular acceptance of homosexuality or, in the case of Rome, it being made a capital crime.
Arguments from history don't always say what you want them to.
Please look beyond your trigger words for meaning...the author might express himself differently than you but in a way that may not differ from your belief.
In simple terms...use your noggin.
Amen!
Interesting.
There is absolutely nothing complicated or long about Leviticus 20:13.
Pretty straight forward IMHO.
Sorry, I was just looking for purity in the message. I already know about the queer war going on. My personal experience has shown that the same type of people that use phrases like social justice are the ones to insist on forgiving the sin as well as the sinner.
I understand.
Excellent and important article.
Before we tear down fences, it would be wise to ask why they were first erected.
This thing should probably be posted every week. Everybody needs to see it.
Mr. Prager does not deal in hyperbole.
I was not referring to Dennis, if you will take the time to notice.
Pagan Societies, at least those in Europe and Africa and Western Asia never got anywhere (except for the Greeks) and they were all homosexual in that the norm was for young men to take lovers among boys, such as still exists to some extent throughout the Arabized Moslem world. Women are kept around for breeding purposes. That is most open nowadays in Afghanistan but true to some extent throughtout the ME and central Asia.
