Hicks said that there was nothing about rescue in his conversation with Hillary at 2am (first (and only? call from Hillary to him). It was all about “find and hopefully rescue Ambassador Stevens. That was the primary purpose of our discussion. Secondary purpose was to talk about what we were going to do in Tripoli to enhance our security there.”
Stevens was pronounced dead at 1am. Libyan pres notified Hicks of Stevens death at 3am.
I think Hillary already knew Stevens was dead when she talked to Hicks. Of course I may be wrong, but I don’t think Hillary was ever asked when and from whom Hillary knew that Stevens was dead.
