Trey Gowdy and his performance in this House committee is the chief reason we see Senator Graham coming alive like he did during the impeachment hearings of 15 years ago.
As someone up for re-election, being totally out performed by a South Carolina congressman puts him in danger during the primaries. It takes a lot to wake up Graham and a lot more to get him off of the McCain “maverick” squishy line but since McCain wants this to be an big issue and Graham sees his political future in danger of being upstaged, he is making noises like he gives a damn.
