Former President Jimmy Carter stands head and shoulders above other American politicians -- including President Obama -- in a new Reader's Digest poll of the 100 most trusted people in America that also suggests the problems dogging "Today Show" co-host Matt Lauer have nicked his integrity.
The new poll, provided to Secrets, proves that Washington has fallen out of favor in America. The four most trusted Americans are in show business. No. 1 is Tom Hanks, followed by Sandra Bullock, Denzel Washington and Meryl Streep.
The first Washingtonian on the list is first lady Michelle Obama at No. 19. Former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright lands at 23, followed by Carter at 24. President Obama landed the No. 65 spot, behind Hillary Clinton, who was No. 51.

This poll must have been taken in a dementia ward in Miami. These people are out of their gourds.
Peanuts?
They must have been thinking about Brother Billy.
Who reads Readers Digest?
It’s pretty much died out and just seen at dental offices or clinics. After their attempt to make global warming “real” back ten years ago...I stopped reading. It was in bankruptcy issues back around 2010. I suspect they barely survive now.
Indeed, what did I miss?
Ten years ago I used to feel confident there were people around me who listened to Rush, loved Reagan, understood what frauds Carter and Hillary and Bubba were (are), etc., etc. Now I’m not so sure. When did all the stupidity creep in? What prompted it? Any ideas?
How the American public can place so much trust in Tom Hanks and Denzel Washington, two actors whom they have never met and really know precious little about aside from their onscreen characters, is quite troubling.
But, Carter can be trusted to bow down to communist dictators and terrorist nation states. Lauer can be trusted to out-feminize all of the ladies in news media.
This comes from the same crowd that picked THE FOREIGNER and GORE for the NOBLE PEACE PRIZE.
Changed his name to Matt Wower...more like Brokaw would say it.
People probably saw the whitewash he got in Argo and assumed everything that happened was beyond his control.
All that I can say is the NEA union thugs that read Reader’s Digest these days love them some imbecilic communist dufus... the second worst president in modern History.
When asked about her son jimmuh... momma carter said, “Billy was always the smarter of the two”.

How many of the people polled were even ALIVE when Carter was president?
We've been toast for years. Acknowledge and adapt.
Storms on the Horizon, Richard W. Fisher, CEO Dallas Federal Reserve, May 28, 2008
No combination of tax hikes and spending cuts, though, will change the total burden borne by current and future generations. For the existing unfunded liabilities to be covered in the end, someone must pay $99.2 trillion more or receive $99.2 trillion less than they have been currently promised. This is a cold, hard fact. The decision we must make is whether to shoulder a substantial portion of that burden today or compel future generations to bear its full weight.
Consolidation of schools all over the country after WW II, and the Federal Department of Education, that my hero promised to eliminate but didn't.
I quit reading Readers Digest years ago. I think probably only the low-information voters are still reading it.
HEY!! I use to read Reader’s Digest! :-)
As Rush said, they read lines written for them by someone else, and they do so in disguise. What about that should give anything they say credibility?
The first Washingtonian on the list is first lady Michelle Obama at No. 19. Former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright lands at 23, followed by Carter at 24. President Obama landed the No. 65 spot, behind Hillary Clinton, who was No. 51.I knew Readers Digest was done years ago, when Susan Sarandon was on the cover.
The Reader’s Digest is still around?
As a kid we used to fold the pages of the Readers Digest over, it would be in a shape of a Christmas Tree. Then the teacher would spray paint it and each of us would put decorations on it.
