Elizabeth Colbert-Busch, the Democratic nominee for the South Carolina First Congressional District special election, is listed twice on today's ballot. Colbert-Busch is also the nominee of the Working Families party.
"She's been nominated by both parties. There's no prohibition in South Carolina against that," explains Chris Whitmire, director of public information and training at the South Carolina State Election Commission.
All votes for Colbert-Busch "go to Colbert-Busch," regardless of whether the voter selects the Democratic Busch or the Working Families Busch. But tonight, when the votes are counted, Busch's votes will be separated by party, even if it's the cumulative vote count that matters.
Colbert-Busch is running against Eugene Platt of the Green party and Mark Sanford of the Republican party.

The "Working Families" Party?
Wouldn't it be more accurate to name them the "Loafing On Welfare" Party?

Is there anybody on the ground in Charleston who can start a live thread on the election?

“does she get to add the votes from both ?”
Yes, that’s how it’s usually done. Because people are voting for the same person, they just choose to support a different party and its views/platform, etc.

Probably they are out working the precincts today. I cannot vote in that district and will await results tomorrow or whenever. Not much else to do.

For those who doubt who she is in bed with:
" America, this is our moment. This is our time. Our time to turn the page on the policies of the past. Our time to bring new energy and new ideas to the challenges we face. Our time to offer a new direction for the country we love." (Barack Obama).

This is hilarious!
The rat party’s base of moochers, most of whom can’t read or simply are not too bright, now get to split the Colbert vote between two parties.

Cluster flop coming - how many LIV will mark BOTH entries, thus creating a spoiled ballot?

Not so. Charleston is so moral they no longer allow whores there or something.

There may be more closet communists in SC than anyone thought.

Absolutely. But you can easily recognize many of them by the brightly-colored carpetbags they carry with them everywhere. Some wear NY baseball caps.

Nah; those creatures are still in-the-closet (or classroom) in SC, waiting for most of us to die off.
To: Resettozero
This would have been known ahead of time, right? If they think it helps to be listed twice, then why wouldn't Sanford, or any Republican in SC, get the endorsement of some other phony third party, or form one themselves? They could call it the Pro American Party, or the Freedom and Liberty Party, or some such, and knuckleheads in the booth who don't want to vote Republican might see that and vote for it.
I like to think that the number of people who might vote for a candidate listed twice, but not if they were listed once would be negligible, but in the days of Idiocracy, we can't guarantee that.
