1. He’s bringing American based manufacturing jobs to Texas - the type of jobs everyone says they want to keep, but Connecticut is driving away.
2. If Texas secedes, it’s got more local weapons manufacturing.
3. If it stays in the union, it can ignore federal laws on ammo and gun manufacturing by saying, “It’s legal to do whatever you want with Texas made guns and ammo.”

Actually, even without seceding, that bill is curently in the Texas Legislature. HB872 (guns/ammo/accessories manufactured in Texas which stay in Texas are exempt from Fed laws) has had its committee hearing and is awaiting a vote before it will go before the full House.
