Thanks for that nice picture, as it brings back the memory of lunching there one day several years ago.

Even with all the noontime chatter, there was still a palpable sense of 'wow' and an inescapable 'presence', if that makes any sense.

Maybe most of the other diners were more focused on their sandwiches and what needed done at the office after lunch, but I found it quite moving.

It ranked with Arlington, Gettysburg, and the Archives in imparting a humbling and very tangible sense of heritage and 'presence'.

I also found Gettysburg very moving. Even though I was a broke new graduate, we hired one of the guides who would hop in your car and tour the battlefield. Well worth the price! Don’t know if they still do that.
