I have no idea how many Indians are offended by the term. But it seems that we are in an age of rampant political correctness. Some years ago, the Washington Compost began referring to the Notre Dame teams as the "Irish" rather than the "Fighting Irish." They received a lot of mail from my Celtic brethren informing them that we are in fact the Fighting Irish, a sobriquet we earned resisting over seven centuries of tyranny, and that we're damned proud of it!
