Things sure have changed since I was there. No trouble nor did we even think there would be any. Great time w/great food, weather, scenery and locals were friendly. I’m shocked to read anything negative about Hawaii - except about the BC, of course. Today changed all that.

Were the locals you had contact with employees of the hotel/resort you stayed — and of restaurants, tour companies, shops and other businesses? If so please keep in mind that their job depends on being nice to visitors (which is of course a good thing).
