Thank you for referencing that article mdittmar.
Noting that the title of this thread is the title of the article which was likely written under supervision of union bosses, the title is misleading imo. I think that the Hostess brands buyer probably doesn't have major problems with union workers. I think that a more honest title for the article is the following.
BCTGM 'Extremely Disappointed' by Reports Hostess Brands Buyer Will Not Deal With Greedy Union Bosses

I want my Devil Dogs back. Is the purchase of Hostess a package deal with Drakes Cakes?
To: mdittmar
Dumb question: Will the union forbid its members from working for the new company?

Federal labor law governing the hiring process and the obligations for the employer and the rights of the future employees in this situation is quite definitive. Is he implying there is federal statues that say union thugs must be rehired?

I’ve never even liked Twinkies. But now, I’ll have to at least try some again. Chick-Filet is starting to grow on me, after all.

Why would the buyer buy into the poison pill, once it was flushed?
Labor unions need to go away and stay away.

One union killed the company and now they want jobs when a new owner is trying to clean up the mess...too bad.
To: mdittmar
LOL!
It sounds like the union wants to make sure the new owners fail, too.

If, however, they do not want us as part of the future of this company, we will continue to fight for our membership through other avenues.that sounds like a threat of union thug violence to me, although it could simply mean lawsuits. Or, maybe they'll sic their corrupt AG Eric Holder and his corrupt Justice Department on the new owners. Yeah, there are plenty of "avenues".

bet the farm these unionists sabotage the product somehow.

So the union represent the bakery? I thought unions represented workers. They should cut to chase and start representing “Twinkie”. Then no matter were Twinkies are made they will be union Twinkies. Heck, the Twinkies could pay dues to the union and bypass the whole union drive, pension, and benefits.
Part of the unions problems are the liberal arts degreed idiots that they hire as administrators. They employ fuzzy logic and language such as representing a bakery and it becomes easy to bypass them (when government does not intervene).

All the big unionized companies near me have gone out of business. That tells me something. Unions at one time in the early 1900’s helped balance employment injustices. Today’s high powered union thugs are the difference in successful companies and those that fail. They are not needed in today’s society and serve no real purpose other than to steal dues from workers to fund liberal political causes.
