The Bee's editorial page editor, Stuart Leavenworth, responded Friday that the artist, Jack Ohman, "made a strong statement about Gov. Rick Perry's disregard for worker safety, and his attempts to market Texas a place where industries can thrive with few regulations." ..... "What he finds offensive is a governor who would gamble with the lives of families by not pushing for the strongest safety regulations. Perry's letter is an attempt to distract people from that message."

It would be remarkable if the left would ever get the facts before politicizing a tragedy. No one knows if stronger law would have prevented this, As I understand at this point it is pretty clear the company was not following Texas and Federal laws regarding reporting chemicals.

So where is the blame for OBama for not enforcing Federal law? The same place Stuart Leavenworth's brain is at. Nowhere.

Good observations. I have been in risk control my entire life and know there is no such think as the 100% risk free plant no matter how many prevention and protection systems are installed. The systems are designed, maintained and operated by people and people make mistakes.

Considering the failure of the systems in California to protect its citizens from the hazards of illegal alien criminals, they are in no place to shine a light on anyone.
