Uh?....Then when they were having the fire fight, where did the second car they were taking bombs out of come from?...you can see the door opened from the second car in the photo, next to the SUV....(photos taken by the guy on the 3rd floor)

I had vehicles---and the timeline---confused (and the reports are confusing also). In trying to sort this out, it has turned into a mini-timeline filled with some interesting info I had not remembered (or never knew).

Monday night (after the bombing) and Tuesday

"Meanwhile, Federal investigators raided the New Bedford, Mass., home of two friends of Dzhokhar because the alleged bomber spent the night there on Monday and Tuesday night. In interviews with the Daily News, neighbors identified the friends as Azamat and Dias Timur. They were arrested on Saturday on immigration charges, and could face additional charges of harboring a fugitive. Officials with homeland security and the FBI are emptying the house to catalog everything as evidence. "They were looking at the drain pipes," said one man who lives next door."

Just five hours after the bombs exploded at the Boston Marathon last week, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, 19, was back at his computer, doing what he did almost every day, posting a message on Twitter. “Ain’t no love in the heart of the city, stay safe people,” he wrote. His brother, Tamerlan, 26, returned to his home in Cambridge, which he shared with his wife and their 3-year-old daughter, and went about his normal activities, including a trip to the supermarket....

"For more than three days — from the time of the explosions at 2:50 p.m. on Monday, April 15, until the F.B.I. released their photographs to the world at 5 p.m. on Thursday, April 18 — the very ordinariness of their activities let the brothers hide in plain sight."Source [also includes many of Jahar's tweets after the bombing]

Jahar was seen at his college Mon, Tues, and Wed. Other than his trip to the supermarket, Tamerlan was only seen at a park with his daughter---as far as I have seen reported.

"On Tuesday, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev came to an auto-body shop to pick up a Mercedes [a white Mercedes 1967 station wagon] he had dropped off for repairs, said Gilberto Junior, who works at the shop.

"The younger brother was jittery, said Mr. Junior. "He was biting his nails, and when he was talking to me, his legs were like this," Mr. Junior said, shaking one leg. "He said, 'I need the car now. I need the car right now.' "" Source and Source

"In a further development, the boys' father, Anzor Tsarnaev, reportedly told Channel 4 News that Tamerlan had called his mother on Wednesday – two days after the bombing – to tell her the FBI had contacted him and they believed he was behind the deadly attack. Tsarnaev reportedly told her that he responded to the FBI accusation by saying "that's your problem"." Source

If true, is it possible that FBI called Tamerlan on Tuesday, causing Jahar to be extremely nervous and shaky when he picked up the car? Everyone else who saw him said he appeared normal and relaxed, and the FBI didn't release their photos to the public until 5:10 Thursday.

Thursday night (carjack)

"The gunman then ordered him to drive to Watertown and was followed by the Honda, the report said. Once in Watertown, the victim was ordered to slide over to the passenger side, the report said. The two brothers then removed luggage from the Honda and loaded it into the trunk of the Mercedes, the report said. From there, one of the brothers drove the Mercedes while the second sat behind the victim, the report said. " Source

So...They had the Honda when they carjacked the SUV. However, the article doesn't say where they parked the Honda in Watertown.

"Tamerlan was killed in the shootout in the Boston suburb of Watertown, but not by police, according to Watertown Police Chief Ed Deveau. One officer spotted the brothers driving two cars, the stolen SUV and a Honda Civic, and the brothers immediately started shooting, Deveau tells The Boston Globe. "Quickly we had six Watertown police officers and two bad guys in a gunfight," with 200 to 300 shots fired." Source

And, they had the Honda at the firefight early Friday morning, as you [Caww] pointed out in your question :(Then when they were having the fire fight, where did the second car they were taking bombs out of come from?)

"Tamerlan, badly wounded, was left at the scene by his younger brother, who apparently backed over him as he sped away in a carjacked Mercedes SUV. State Police Superintendent Timothy Alben said Dzhokhar Tsarnaev later abandoned the stolen vehicle in Watertown and fled by foot." Source

So...Jahar escaped from the firefight in the stolen Mercedes SUV and later abandoned it in Watertown, fleeing on foot.

This is where it gets confusing

Friday morning (after the firefight)

"Around 10:20 a.m., Connecticut State Police say a car believed to be linked to Dzhokhar Tsarnaev has been recovered in Boston. They initially call it a Honda CRV, but authorities later say it was a Honda Civic.

"Around 11:30 a.m., Massachusetts State Police explain that the brothers suspected in the bombings were in the Honda when they carjacked the Mercedes SUV. For a while, each drove one of the two vehicles, but then ditched the Honda and reunited in the Mercedes.
Chronology Source

BUT...there is this

"Boston police initially said Dzhokhar may be driving a green 1999 Honda sedan with Massachusetts license plate 116-GC7. However, by 3:45 p.m. ET, Boston police tweeted that they had found the car and were no longer looking for it. "Earlier, Boston police recovered an abandoned gray Honda CRV believed to be the place where the brothers spent the night. It was empty. It was seized and processed for evidence. Source

Honda confusion here also.

The link says that police had been looking for THREE Hondas after the early-morning firefight, but none of them could have been the Honda at the scene of the firefight.

These links point to a few unanswered questions about the Honda(s):

Photos of shootout (including a comment that says the bombers had also hijacked the "green sedan," but I haven't seen that confirmed anywhere else)

NPR detailed timeline ---after Tamerlan was run over by Jahar in the SUV. It has the FBI tweets of police looking for Honda(s).
