Having the civilians out of the house during the search is for their own safety.
LOLOLOLOL. Great for TV but seldom true in real life. I also want to wait for the victims to be interviewed. What I saw terrified me. There is NEVER a need to order someone out of their house for this type of search. This was ONE GUY! How many times do the police look for a gunman and DON”T search houses, removing the residents at gunpoint.
You may have missed the orders to keep your hands over their heads and that they were patted down twice. Once as they stepped off the porch and again down the street.
I have searched for bad guys. We knock on doors and talk with residents. We search the area. We do not enter buildings unless they are unsecured and only after announcing.
This was over kill and a scale that I hope never to see again.
Police are civilians too, because they aren't in the Army.
So too goes the argument that disarming American citizens is for everyone's safety also.
So if we accept your premise, we should also accept the fact we need to scrap the 2nd Amendment and the 4th Amendment and surrender our weapons when demanded of us.
I assume you actually believe the State and it's agents are there to protect and serve us, so we should readily accept machine guns in our faces and ordered to exit our own homes with hands on our heads.
We are America no more.
Incredible that a forum for Conservatives reveals so many who willingly bow to statist tyranny and even argue for it - all in the name of safety and security of course.
Yet it was the man that has the boat, who went out to have a snoke, found bomber number 2.
So the cops ask the person to step outside and close the door behind him, and then ask the person to indicate by blinking whether there's anyone inside, in such fashion that a bad guy inside the house would be unable to see the response. If there is a bad guy in the house, even if he was holding someone's family hostage, it should be clear that the best thing for the family would be for the police to know the situation but for the bad guy not to know that they know. If someone with a closed door between them and any possible bad guy says there's no problem, the police should look elsewhere.
“...Having the civilians out of the house during the search is for their own safety...”

?Civilians?
Your use of the word in that context is so telling.
“And pointing guns in their faces is for their own safety, too!!”
