The Controversial Moment SWAT Teams Ordered Innocent Neighbors Out Of Their Houses At GUNPOINT
Mail Online ^ | April 23, 2013 | Daily Mail Reporter

A startling home-made video now shows the terrifying moments where Watertown residents were forced out of their homes at gunpoint as SWAT teams performed door-to-door searches as they hunted the second marathon bomber. While millions of Bostonians waited in their houses on Friday during the city-wide lockdown, the people of Watertown were faced with SWAT officers yelling at them to get out of the buildings immediately.

I expected him to start muttering ‘imagined tyranny’ any moment because I was so sure that he was actually Harry Reid. ;-)

“There was no hot pursuit, they had no idea where #2 was until a citizen called them on the telephone. “

Ain’t that a fact, dragnet2. Some guy taking an evil smoke break found No. 2 terrorist.

One guy puffing a cigar = finding one terrorist.

10,000 cops searching for one terrorist = the terrorist slipping through the dragnet.

Door-to-door search of private homes in Watertown was not efficient or effective. Perp was located by a private homeowner after the asinine show of jackbooted government thuggery was called off. But you already knew this.

Just curious--what did the government jackboots do if someone didn't answer their door? We know the citizens weren't given time to get dressed or put on their slippers.

They had a very good idea where he was, and when they caught him he was very close to that. The whole town wasn't searched ~ just a small sector.

This was very similar to the sort of search we've had for escaped prisoners from the nearby prison (now closed down).

Remember, the only guy who'd be really concerned with a warrentless search would be the criminal ~ and I"m sorry, nobody there was hiding him in the basement ~ they didn't want him around.

****”They weren’t “FORCED” out of their homes at gunpoint......they were asked to leave their homes and were personally escorted by law enforcement officials for their own protection........”

BS

Anyone that “asks” me like that is asking for something else

They never caught him at that time muwiwa!

They didn’t have a clue where he was...It’s why they started mass wholesale door to door searches of private residences.

You’re funnier than a barrel of monkey’s.

Stormtroopers boot you out of your home, and only "criminals" would really be concerned? Really???

Let's talk about how efficient and effective it was to treat the Watertown citizens like criminals until the gestapo stormtroopers decided they couldn't find a 113 lb. teenager.

We don't know that the people in the video owned the home! The problem here is that you are doing a Constitutional blow up when it may be the case that a homeowner's home has been invaded by others and he's asked the cops to boot them out.

We need more information before we get into that territory.

Remember, at FR we do not support criminal home invasions.

The whole town wasn't searched ~ just a small sector.

Even searching one house would be illegal unless in hot pursuit or any evidence or even a police hunch brought them there. More than one just proves the illegality.

This was very similar to the sort of search we've had for escaped prisoners from the nearby prison (now closed down).

Definitely illegal

Remember, the only guy who'd be really concerned with a warrentless search would be the criminal

Dead wrong. The criminal would get free protection from the ACLU and every bit of evidence gathered illegally would be tossed. Homeowners would get nothing.

Are you saying all those people left their homes because they had been invaded by others? Who are these invaders?

The criminal doesn't have the right to privacy or any other right in somebody else's porch, garage, basement or boat.

This was't the guy the Bill of Rights was designed to protect ~ this is the guy who wants to be a tyrant. The Bill of Rights was designed to protect us from him!

This is about the 11 teen thousandth 568th rendition of this same story with the same video and so far NO ONE has interviewed the vics. What did they have to say about it?

Who cares what they think; I know what I saw, and I don't need anyone to "explain" it to me.

Go interview them. Until we find out what those people have to say you’ve got nothing! The video, without testimony from those involved is little more than hayseed propaganda!

The criminal doesn't have the right to privacy or any other right in somebody else's porch, garage, basement or boat.

Completely wrong. Lots of criminal cases are jeopardized due to illegal searches. Convictions for murder tossed because cops went into a residence illegally and didn't have any other evidence, only the illegally gathered evidence.

This was't the guy the Bill of Rights was designed to protect ~ this is the guy who wants to be a tyrant. The Bill of Rights was designed to protect us from him!

Wrong again.

Not many complaints in Britain where they are mostly disarmed but have a higher violent crime rate than here. They just get used to it.
