I can’t say that I am shocked, since I know many folks like you in the homeschooling community. It matters not that “other” children might be abused and worse, only that they would never abuse their own precious children. Who gives a darn about other people’s children. That “other” parents are free to abuse their children is just fine with them. Oh, it bothers them...but just a bit.

Actually that is a false inference. It is not that it does not matter to me. Rather, I do not presume to have authority in the matter and, therefore, I am not responsible for it. I could (and would) council the parents to behave differently towards their kids, but the decision how to rear them is not mine.

And it is not lost on me that my children will have to share their world with those kids as adults.
