The tarp in that photo looks to be torn — ripped by the device that the police used to tear it away. He certainly did not do all that damage to it on entering the boat and it didn’t look like that when the police arrived. That photo had to have been taken the night they captured him as he was exiting the boat.

I don’t believe for a moment that this guy shot himself in the throat. This entire story is looking more and more made up as they go.

It was the boat owner’s noticing of a torn tarp that led the boat owner to call police.
