My mom use to have her coffee and newspaper first thing...I have coffee and on-line news....guess it's inherited too!
I don’t drink coffee. I inject it.
Seriously, I not only need coffee in the morning, but my own special blend & way of brewing it. I literally get sick without it — headaches, fatigue. After a good cup, all the pleasure centers in my brain light up — cognitive centers, too. I need it to think.
It’s a great wrap after work too! First thing I do in the door...feed Kitty Cat while brewing...the aroma fabulous....
However, have you ever run out? I did, couldn’t believe it...I actually ran “used “ coffee grounds thru the coffeemaker! Pretty nasty stuff second time around!
Now I keep some instant coffee on hand just in case...LOL!
I ran out now. Sun. morning I’m making a beeline to Starbucks & buying a lb. of Kenya roast.

“Well beer is very good stuff, but my preferred dopamine starter is a good single malt scotch whiskey straight up.”
Be careful. Beer Street vs Gin Lane.

Plus we put chemical additives in our 'beer' -- I get splitting migraines from one sip of American 'beer -- where in Germany that's against the law, just read the label on a Beck's beer bottle.
(1) Based on a Poll of all Germans who've come to the USA and tried to drink the swill we make here and call 'beer'.
My thoughts too - the aroma of a cheeseburger makes me drool much like Pavlov's dogs did when hit with a stimulus that was tied to another stimulus...
I like Beer from Britain, Belgium, and Germany.. I’m a beer snob....
I’m not worried. I drink Michelob Light (low carb), which from my reaction to it, contains no alcohol, regardless what’s listed on the label.
Beer was prescribed by physicians to ameliorate certain forms of tremor back in the day.
Beer does have interesting physiological effects. I read an abstract that described the stimulating effect of beer on gastrointestinal motility, the implication being that one can of cheap beer is less expensive than Miralax. The dopaminergic effect might explain why certain forms of tremor decrease w/administration of beer.
American colonists were forbidden to drink more than half a gallon of beer at breakfast.
I like good scotch, too. Also love martinis. But, being retired, I have a lot of time to drink.
Can’t seem to drink scotch, or martinis, for 6 hours. Too much dopamine?
What can I say? Beer is proof that God loves us.
Ah, an addict experiencing withdrawal symptoms. The body speaks! Give me caffeine!
