The accused Marathon bombers wore expensive clothes and drove brand-new Porsches, Range Rovers and Mercedes and were in a rush for their car the day after the bombing, , says a Cambridge auto body shop owner.
Gilbert Junior, owner of the Cambridge -based Junior Auto Body, said he saw one of the accused bombers Tuesday morning and knew something was wrong right away.
He was nervous, and biting his nails, and he wanted his girlfriends car right away even though I hadnt fixed it yet, he said.
Junior said the two were from Russia and used to live in Turkey. He said they belonged to a group of friends from Turkey. He said they paid him in cash and he never knew their names. He knew them only as the brothers.
They drive new cars all the time, like Porsches, Range Rovers, all the time. They change cars all the time, he said.
The last time I saw Suspect No. 2 he had his girlfriends car, which they came to pick it up before the job was even done, he said. I saw him on Tuesday, this Tuesday. He was kind of biting his nail, and I need the car, I need the car, I need the car, and I say, Man, the car is not done.
It was a white 2006 Mercedes wagon, he said.
When he saw the FBI photos last night, he said, I thought these guys look familiar, but I wasnt sure.
But once he saw a surveillance photo this morning from 7-11 and heard the suspects were from Russia, he said, I knew it was them.
How does a guy working on the girlfriends car, know how often and what the brothers drive? This article conflicts itself, either the mechanic knew them well, or as he states it took till this morning to reccognize them from the one job.
Either they are so spoiled they get a new car whenever they wish or there's a more dark reason for a vehicle not to be recognized and linked with them.
I agree it's strange but it wouldn't be the first time a well crafted plan failed because the getaway driver panicked and took off without the perps.
Yeah, sounds like the brothers didn’t get their money, pictures go public which I.d. them, and they gotta get out of Dodge fast. Mom has a brush with the law. Nice family. Are threats from the Dad to be taken seriously. Time will tell.
I think you'll find a bunch of credit cards maxed out.
“why did they rob a 7-11?”
They didn’t. They hijacked the car at the 7-11 location. The 7-11 was NOT robbed. The brothers actually withdrew money from Bank of America around 11pm.
Now it is reported they didn’t rob the 7-11
that is just where the car jacked the mercedes
FNC just reported that the 7-11 was not robbed. Rather, it was the site of the carjacking. They didn’t spend too much time on this aspect. But wasn’t it a Mercedes that the men carjacked? I guess they were just used to ‘nice’ things.
Do people seriously think that Saudi Arabia, Iran and other oil producing muslim countries are just stockpiling all of their money in Swiss bank accounts? They are spending the hundreds of billions in order to plant as many muslims as possible into every western country. I have seen them here in Canada, just off the boat with no jobs, but immediately housed in nice houses and driving fancy vehicles. We have no idea how many sleeper cells have already been planted in the guise of legal immigrants. America, Canada and Western Europe have all created the potential for a sustained jihad through the stupidity of unrestrained muslim immigration. If only 1% of these people are radicalized, it means there are thousands of potential jihadists already in our midst. Collective suicide.
I was my understanding they had the mercedes owner driving around for half and hour but they stopped at the 7-11 for gas. They ditched the car’s owner and drove off. The owner ran into the 7-11 for them to call 911.
Looks like they changed their mind about being suicide bombers. For a day or two, anyway.
Many auto finance companies have been as irresponsible as the home mortgage lenders in terms of handing out financing for new cars to anyone with a pulse.
So it doesn't necessarily mean they were flush with cash, they could have just taken advantage of the affirmative-action lack of credit standards which has been prevalent for many years.
They didn’t rob it, getting cash or carjacking
I’ll bet you $100 they were receiving Foodstamps.
Perhaps they were funded by stimulus money. Obamadollars.
I would hope the FBI is in the process of rounding up this "group of friends."
I fear it is “us,” as in U.S. (various monies from school grants, welfare, etc. and drug sales.)
Oh but media is telling us how smart they are, going to “prestigious charter school where many famous/celebrities have gone, suspect #2 is a 2nd year medical student, someone one else claiming one was studying engineering, maybe at MIT!”
Their extreme poverty obviously drives them to the desperation of terror attacks. /
I think the “7-Eleven” story got screwed up. It was not robbed. That’s where the carjacked guy got loose/was let go. He ran into the store and called 911.
