The accused Marathon bombers wore expensive clothes and drove brand-new Porsches, Range Rovers and Mercedes — and were in a rush for their car the day after the bombing, , says a Cambridge auto body shop owner.
Gilbert Junior, owner of the Cambridge -based Junior Auto Body, said he saw one of the accused bombers Tuesday morning and “knew something was wrong right away.”
“He was nervous, and biting his nails, and he wanted his girlfriend’s car right away even though I hadn’t fixed it yet,” he said.
Junior said the two were from Russia and used to live in Turkey. He said they belonged to a group of friends from Turkey. He said they paid him in cash and he never knew their names. He knew them only as “the brothers.”
“They drive new cars all the time, like Porsches, Range Rovers, all the time. They change cars all the time,” he said.
“The last time I saw Suspect No. 2 he had his girlfriend’s car, which they came to pick it up before the job was even done,” he said. “I saw him on Tuesday, this Tuesday. He was kind of biting his nail, and ‘I need the car, I need the car, I need the car,’ and I say, ‘Man, the car is not done.’ ”
It was a white 2006 Mercedes wagon, he said.
When he saw the FBI photos last night, he said, “I thought these guys look familiar, but I wasn’t sure.
But once he saw a surveillance photo this morning from 7-11 and heard the suspects were from Russia, he said, “I knew it was them.”

Hmmmmmm.
Seems from this mechanic’s description, they were in severe panic mode as of Tuesday, and I am sure that only expanded once the photos were released.
Seems weird that this looks like a well organized and orchestrated plan, but seemingly NO plan for afterwards. Maybe this group didn’t expect the depth of photos and video that would clearly identify them. Who knows.
So these sweet, all-American boys who, according to their father in Russia, have never been around guns or done anything bad are driving multiple expensive cars while their mother was arrested for shoplifting?
Um.... Yeah, these guys are just lone wolfs....
And their Dad is a liar who is up to his eye-balls in this.
One answer could be that they couldn’t get in touch with the source of their money after the attack.
OR it could be that the car repar guy wanted some free publicity.
That struck me as dumbness, too - although at the time I didn't know they were driving such high dollar wheels... it's just that after doing something like the bombing, is not the time to go try a stupid robbery.
That didn't add up.
Maybe...maybe not. I’m guessing the money guy was also the brains behind this project. He was probably nowhere near Boston, and never was. He used some intermediary bag men. Our Saudi friend may have been one of them, but I’m guessing not. I wouldn’t want my bag man anywhere near Boston when this happened; no traces back to me.
Yup! We’ll probably NEVER get the straight skinny on THAT either!
Maybe when they were made the cash quit coming???
Who knows, there’s so much bad info out. One story says they robbed a 7-11 another story says they stole a car from someone at or near the 7-11, before that some Indian kid, the some of a marathon sponsor, from PA was the guy. I’d just like to know who the screwballs are that put out all this crap “news”.

And I just read (in a post above this one) that the mother was arrested for shoplifting.
Ah, Islam, such a wonderful philosophy.
Yeah but I would bet Russian security has their eyes on him, if not already picked up for questioning.
