I think it is interesting to see how someone goes from a friendly, jovial, compassionate, well-liked high school kid to this 19 year old terrorist. Obviously, there was something in his character that allowed this to happen.
The older brother was obviously more troubled in the years previous to this, so his transition to jihad is more understandable. I think the younger brother may have hero worshiped his older brother, and followed him into radical Islam. Now he’s a terrorist being hunted down like a rabbit.
