Their goal is complete disarmament and, if they can’t get everything they want all at once, they intend to get it one step at a time. they don’t even hide this fact so there’s really nothing to argue about.
Guns, or murder?
Murder is already illegal. More people are murdered by other methods than guns. Should we outlaw knives and screwdrivers? Should we outlaw human hands (beating/strangling)?
If we should outlaw murder, should we outlaw forceps and uterine suction devices? Over a million people a year are murdered by these.
Only gang bangers should have guns. Gotta enforce turf rules so the drugs will be down on the streets. Students gotta get their meds.

I love the interview in the early 90s with Heston, where he discussed the LA riots, and his liberal friends were asking him to borrow a gun or two from him, and he says, just go down to the gun store, and buy one, and go through the waiting period, then you’ll have one, and they say yeah, but the waiting period, we need it now, and Heston says well you voted for that - and din’t loan them any guns. It would have been hell for Heston if these people who didn’t know squat about guns shot someone accidentally and they find out it isn’t theirs but Hestons’ guns. Lawsuit city.
