MIT issued an emergency alert at 10:48 on Thursday night reporting shots fired on the university campus. The school newspaper reports, "Shots fired near 32 Vassar St (Stata Center), police officer down. Please stay inside." That report is backed up by CBS News's Bonney Kapp who reports hearing "officer down" on the police scanner just before the MIT alert went out. For now, details are scarce, but the suspect is on the loose and considered armed and extremely dangerous.

Thought occurred to me that the perps may have tried to run to a safe house...so cops are smart to keep looking. The whole stinkin cell could be caught. These bombers are ‘acting stupidly’ now. Cell heads are probably making moves to leave area too. Just a thought.
a security police was shot on the MIT campus and then perps carjacked a black mercedes SUV...the LE persuing perps report exposives and hand grenades as the chase on foot through backyards and neighborhoods. One LE officer is shot while this is going on. MIT security officer pronounced dead at hospital and then more explosives found and its been more of everything ...bomb threats to hospital ...one suspect apprehended and still looking for second.
Rep. Sue Myrick, R-N.C., asserted in a radio interview today she believes it’s possible that Hezbollah, the radical terrorist organization tied to Iran, may be working with Mexican cartels to funnel not only drugs, but also terrorist sleeper agents into the U.S.
“Former [Defense Intelligence Agency] people and others have told me what is going on, there have been a couple of arrests in this country relative to people who have had ties to Hezbollah or Iran, and my concern has been with the drug cartels and the gangs that are operating in Mexico,” Myrick said. “There is, what I have been told, a very strong presence there of coordination between the two.”
