MIT: Shooter On Loose; Officer Down

MIT issued an emergency alert at 10:48 on Thursday night reporting shots fired on the university campus. The school newspaper reports, "Shots fired near 32 Vassar St (Stata Center), police officer down. Please stay inside." That report is backed up by CBS News's Bonney Kapp who reports hearing "officer down" on the police scanner just before the MIT alert went out. For now, details are scarce, but the suspect is on the loose and considered armed and extremely dangerous.

Hubby just got home from the gym... he can control the TV now, which is in another room... LOL. He can switch between FNC and CNN, whatever.
I can't detach myself from this Boston police scanner. Afraid I might miss something...

I have been addicted to this since it happened. And every story about it.
I figured it was because I work in a medical center and the medical stuff just riveted us there.
But then they were chechens and I knew a lot about them too, so it's all just keeping me so on top of whatever I can find.

No word on family, but have to imagine they're cleared out. Have heard nothing on scanner regarding hostage with suspect.
