He is trying to look American. The backward baseball cap is an affectation. I don't think they thought they were being filmed. They just wanted to fit in with the crowd.

Exactly! If these were Americans they wouldnt try to look the part..nowadays young people don’t even wear their hats backwards anymore, that was a fad back in the early 90s, its worn out..the guy wearing the white hat is trying to look the part..its something that is taught by Al Qaeda, to blend into a crowd you have to look the part, you have to look like your an American..the one wearing the black hat doesn’t wear it backwards, he might be Americanized
