My dad was on the fall river to witness the first A bomb test.
Was looking at his pictures just yesterday.

Trinity?
Very cool plane, I got to climb around in it a couple weeks ago. It’s last assignment in the SAC was as an atomic training plane, so it has the framework in the bomb bay that would allow the early bomb’s to be attached to the shackle.
Gabriela Pickett has a “city of peace” because that bomb was dropped. What part of that does she not get? Another example of Can’t Understand Normal Thinking.
Gabriela Pickett world renown peacenik and socialist.
Mounting a atomic bombing reenactment does seem in questionable taste I think.
There's a long list of reenactments I don't want to see: Bataan death march, firebombing of Dresden, battle of Shiloh, etc.
I love airshows, but recreation of acts of carnage seems incompatible with happy families walking around eating brats and soft-serve.
Bikini Atoll
She’s just upset because the bombs denied her beloved Soviet Union from taking control of Japan.
So you’re saying a dropped A-bomb, correct?
So you like dwarf tree horticulture? Banzai is the word you are looking for.
Castle Bravo, Ivy Mike. Mmmmmmm, mmmmm good.
My bad, it wasn’t the first. But my dad’s still my hero:)
It was operation crossroads.
from the web:
It was the first test of a nuclear weapon after the Trinity nuclear test in July 1945, and the first detonation of any nuclear device following the Fat Man detonation on August 9, 1945. Its purpose was to investigate the effect of nuclear weapons on naval ships.
And they did sit around and watch it with no protection. Too bad I don’t know how to send pictures from my phone. Took pics of his pics for my siblings
The way to stop this garbage is that the group bringing the B-29 thanks them, and flies instead to another nearby town for an awesome display.
Make sure to publically and repeatedly “thank” the artist and the petition signers for making you aware that you arent welcome there.
Your dad should be your hero. :)
There’s a good documentary you can get...narrated by one Captain James T. Kirk.
My dad was an intelligence officer with the 509th Composite Bomb Group and participated in the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki and was devastated over the necessity to drop the bombs. He later participated in the 1946 Bikini tests. He would be happy that there are no reinactments
Here it is in action. AWESOME

If anyone has a Netflix streaming account it’s available too. Just watched this a few days ago. Very good documentary.
