The Feinstein Amendment to ban 157 semi-automatic weapons and high (regular) capacity magazines has massively failed 60-40.

Instead of our leaders wiping their brows and saying "Whew that was a close one", they need be to be ready immediately this is done to go on the offensive-showing how guns save lives, showing the murder rates amongst those who obtained their guns illegally, and most of all, showing how cutting the Second Amendment into pieces Always means that we don't get all the pieces back once they're done. They need to show how the Second Amendment is of one piece, which says, unequivocally, that government shall make NO laws infringing upon our rights to keep and bear arms. That doesn't mean a "right to hunt". They need to return gun rights to most felons. Those with criminal intent will get them anyway, and those who have rehabilitated or weren't the for violent crimes should have the same rights to defend themselves and their family as other citizens. The government turns a blind eye to blatant scoff-laws-illegal immigrants-when they do so.

I expect it. We need to counter that by showing the high gun homicide rates in places like Chicago where the majority of gun crimes were committed by criminals who couldn’t have passed present checks. We need to show how honest citizens have used their guns to protect their wives and families. They can’t expect the MSM to carry their water, it won’t happen. The politicians are going to have to go around the media as best they can and make these points directly to Americans.

You are exactly right they never give up. It is good to see things like global warming, abortion, and gun control shaping up fairly well in our direction even though we have tough fights like this and will continue to. I also believe we will succeed in holding the line on the gay issue it is tougher because they so often succeed in shutting down the conversation with Political Correctness however that tool is a dangerous one to wield and is not popular at all with the public and I believe it will be their undoing especially if conservative media gets off its bottom and keeps highlighting when the draconian though police are about. I remember during the 90s when this kind of gun control would’ve made it through congress fairly easily so that is comforting. I fully expected this to pass. Its great that it didn’t.

I think that they (we) have to go even further in that the politicians behind these hideous and naked attempts to cow a free people have to be exposed and relentlessly pursued using every type of media platform available.

I mean politicians and their coat holders at every level; federal, state and local.
