It looks like the subject is wearing 511 Cargo pants and the type of shoes that a lot of US agents wear. The earpiece is typical of agents as well.

See that elbow next to him? That’s his partner, wearing the EXACT same outfit. Same beige pants, same beige boots.

If these guys were here to blow stuff up, they wouldn’t have worn matching military-style pants/boots.

This frenzy over the media’s pathetic reporting (if that’s the word) and that over the posted photos needs to end.

Example: The photo of the guys in backpacks and tan tactical pants with tan boots????

Reality Check:
They’re either with a Federal Agency or just Boston SWAT. The backpack is a tactical pack, likely modified to hold an SMG discreetly for rapid deployment.

Looks like a poor job at being an under-cover cop. If I WAS a cop and saw someone in the crowd with a backpack that big, I would have rousted him. Thus, I think he was a cop.
