Investigation widens as search of Saudi national's apartment turns up nothing terrorism related

Mohammed Badawood, 20, is the roommate of the Saudi national being questioned by the FBI.

Investigators have ruled out the Saudi national questioned in connection with yesterday’s Boston Marathon bombing as a suspect after a search of the man’s apartment and computer turned up nothing explosive- or terrorism-related, law-enforcement sources said.

The FBI-lead investigators are continuing to probe the man’s background but are also conducting a wider search of terrorism websites and chatter, surveillance footage, and the ball bearings and nails used in the two bombs, the sources said.

According to CNN, investigators have also found no link from the bombings to foreign or al-Qaeda connections.

Won’t stop as long as new world order wants to foment violence.

They’ve set the wheels in motion at a high level in various organizations. They can recruit other high-levels as they choose. The organizations then cause their mayhem.

A population needs to be scared to accept new world order’s statism; more wars, grab citizen’s guns, consolidate business into state monopolies.

You can’t just get rid of the smell, you’ve got to get rid of the skunk, new world order. Then you can attack the terror organizations one by one. Otherwise, it’s like playing wack-a-mole with terrorists.

With all the money that Saudi has, why is it that they send their youth to the US to study?

Move MIT, Harvard and other ivy league schools to Jeddah and Riyadh and give them UT (Austin) as a bonus.

Get rid of the liberals, oops, “progressives”.

DHS after its inception has spent more than a trillion dollars with 230,000 employees. It is unbelievable to think how “BigSis” Janet Napolitano keeps her job. What the **** does she actually do? This was her actual statement yesterday: “the events in Boston weren’t part of a broader plot.” Oh really Janet, how in the hell do you know?

It was unsettling yesterday to hear an FBI spokesman say they were unaware of any current terrorist threats.

On the other hand, folks were reacting to the only information they had at the time. Its kinda unfair to criticize them when new information comes to light.

Personally, I don't know what to believe in the current environment. The media is utterly unreliable.

I still think that the cause of TWA 800 was swept under the rug. And I’m sure the same will happen here for what our leaders perceive to be “the greater good”.

”Why the Boston Marathon??”.

Maybe because it’s a well-known event attracting loads of people and media attention? Maybe because it celebrates patriotism?

“Why those two locations?”
The finish line is an obvious choice. Near the finish line? All the families are nearby, wanting to see their loved one cross the finish line.

“Will there be more?”
Do you really need to ask?

There are Sandy Hook Truthers around that think the Newtown children were fake or deformed satanists

Oh, I know. I just wish so many of them weren't Freepers.

New information coming to light won’t make much difference.
By then a lot of people will only believe whatever conclusion they’ve already jumped to. Any additional information will be dismissed.
I’ve seen this very phenomanon over and over. Sadly our reactions are filtered through partisan politics.

If they’re guilty, we’ll know soon enough. If they’re innocent, the publicizing of their names and faces will possibly put innocent people into danger. I would not want it on myself.

Because a lot of white, middle class suburbanites attend this event historically?

Why the Boston Marathon indeed?

“He could have just been in the wrong place at the wrong time. It is best to keep eyes open until the actual perp is captured instead of being sold on one answer.”

Agreed. But I find it disturbing that he was declared innocent so quickly and that the experts keep pushing the meme of “domestic terrorist” because the facts don’t fit foreign terrorists. Think of it - symbolic day, type of bomb, target guaranteeing maximum media coverage, nonmilitary, non-government target. One can only hope political correctness doesn’t interfere with justice.

...”Why the Boston Marathon??”.

Add this to spaced's answers...

The venue is relatively difficult to contain with effective security.

Downtown streets, shops and office buildings containing thousands of people who are not associated with the event.

No gates to control entrance (and exit) where effective security can be employed.

Helluva lot easier to carry a bomb or two into the area than to get one into the Fleet Center or Fenway Park, e.g.

For further perspective, the Marathon is to Boston as the OU-Texas game is to Dallas.

Just don’t see this race as important politically. Didn’t know it was even on until I saw a note on ESPN.

why would anyone ever think a Muslim did a terrorist bombing/sarcasm

The only reason Islam doesn't bomb here in the USA every day is because they haven't reached critical mass here yet.

http://www.wnd.com/2012/12/guess-how-many-islamic-terror-attacks-since-911/
A little less than every five hours, somewhere around the world a Muslim is carrying out a fatal jihadist attack.

These are not the regular beatings and vandalism against Christians, Hindus and Buddhists but religion-oriented attacks in which someone dies at the hand of a member of the”religion of peace.”

A website called “The Religion of Peace” has listed more than 20,000 such fatal attacks since Sept. 11, 2001

After the media/state cabal’s performance following the Benghazi incident I’m amazed there are still Freepers who believe anything the media tells them.

I have no use for almost all media, especially cable news, whether it be CNN, MSNBC, or Fox.

I also hold Freepers in higher regard than those clowns.

Feel better now?

It may very well be a Muslim or Muslims who carried out this bombing. It wouldn't surprise me either way.

But that also has little do with so many people condemning this one individual when they have absolutely no knowledge of the investigation or the person in question.

It's a knee jerk reaction of the type often seen on The Left.

Many times police declare someone “not to be the suspect”, only to release them and monitor their behavior or find out who they associate with.

This could be the case here...

Im sorry but, burnt hands, afghanistan type IED’s, Saudi National, student visa, 20 years old, etc. I dont want to convict someone in a public forum, but seems to me this is a logical person of interest.
