“Oh, you speak for God, I forgot.”
No, but I at least try to not twist things in scripture to suit my purposes. You don’t even try...and if you call what you have done trying...then you are lying.
“...be subject to governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and tose that exist have been instituted by God. Therefore whoever resists the authorities resists what God has appointed....” Romans 13:1-2
Pretty clear directive that doesn’t require further commentary by me. You cannot say the same of what you misquote to support Godless libertarian viewpoints...as Godless as the liberal left and just as dangerous.
You are as dense and condescending as they come. Go back and read my posts for once.
- I hold the Bible to be the word of God.
- I hold that there is a form of government that conforms to Biblical doctrines.
- I hold that our form of government, as envisioned by our founders, is as close as man has come to establishing Gods desired way to manage society in a fallen world - before He comes back to establish His New Jerusalem.
Is that clear enough? Not Godless! Not anarchy!
I also hold that if you believe the structure of the United States is:
- God grants authority to Government
- Government grants authority to Individuals
Then, you are as un-American as any communist!
The following (Ill try one last time) is basic history and civics 101. But, you lack any concept of history and keep falsely accusing me of perpetuating some Godless anarchy and rejecting the bible.
Read the Declaration and Constitution. We are a Biblical-based Constitutional REPUBLIC based on the Biblical concept of Natural Rights. Not a Democracy. Not a Socialist / Communist / Royal / Dictator led utopia, or any other form of oppressive, Godless rule that you so stridently maintain is better than nothing:
Any government, how poor it may be, is better than no government
All of our founders were well versed in the concept of Gods Natural Rights, putting in place a system where it is clearly understood that:
- God grants Natural Rights to Individuals
- Individuals grant LIMITED AUTHORITY - to a government that is subservient, subordinated, and specifically bounded by the rule of Natural Law, not the whims of either the majority, minority, or a single king / dictator.
Our form of government is only legitimate when administering very specific duties, which are relegated to a small subset of Natural Rights that are granted to each individual by God then delegated in the proper manner to government - subordinated and accountable to citizens. An individual does not have the right to steal from his neighbor and therefore, the government cannot steal, even if a majority votes to steal. An individual does not have the right to tell a person what to believe or say and neither does government. An individual HAS THE RIGHT to due process, so the government DOES NOT HAVE THE RIGHT to take away due process from the least in society (i.e. abortion by law or defacto law from the court system). An individual has the right to protect himself and his family. Therefore, that right CAN be delegated to the government in a limited fashion, but it does not eliminate or restrict the individuals right to protect themselves or family.
You have some kind of gall telling me not to quote scriptures and accusing me of lying about them. Your true colors could not be more evident. People like you are the reason I strongly argue for a restricted power base of one group of men over another (government, church, doesnt matter). History is filled with grotesques abuses over the entire history of mankind, but exceptionally few bright spots.
I can easily imagine you being one of the persecutors detailed in Foxs Book of Martyrs who put to death Christians who would not bow down to your version of religious traditions - mandated by supposed holy men - used to subjugate the masses and maintain, for greedy purposes, the power over mens soul.
I’ve changed my tagline based on your absurd rhetoric.
