yes--we are a left-wing state... however, i am so glad that California has very relaxed homeschooling laws--virtually none... more homeschooling freedom here than many of the "red states." therefore, i am free to give my kids the classics... like Red Riding Hood... the one where the grandma is eaten up by the wolf...
