Why in the world do they do these "no-knock" raids? Practice for martial law? Why can't the LEO's wait for the guy to walk out of house and nab him there, then go in and search for drugs/whatever?

I can see if the perp is a known violent criminal with a record, but someone that they can't prove to a judge is dangerous? Do judges even bother asking before they issue warrants, or do they just rubber-stamp whatever LEO hands them?

I agree, these raid should only be used for extreme circumstances. They are used constantly when there is no immediate danger, just suspicion of drugs. They don’t even consider children and other family members let alone it being the wrong house. I’m sure the cops love the rush though. I don’t understand how we let them get away with this.

For the sport of it. It's catch and release.

The adrenaline rush (2) Get to use shiny, taxpayer provided “toys”.

No excitement or drama in waiting for the suspect to walk out of his residence.

You just don’t want government employees to have any fun.
