4Runner, I’d recommend you go to the linked article and read it there (the linked article also has a link to the congressional record of the vote). The extract got things all mixed up. Some good conservatives are consequently being accused (by many here in this thread) with voting the opposite of the way they actually voted.
Some folks are here (INADVERTENTLY I’m sure—caused by their misreading or not reading of the linked article) spreading FUD.

There are ‘good republicans’? I didn’t see oen republican hold a press meetign sayign they would NOT even deign to vote for such a blatantly anti-American bill- I didn’t see one republican stand up to dear leader by informign hte American public that dear leader’s bill would mean giving up our soveriengty and alloowing a European nation/union to control our laws here-
Sorry- I’m not convinced there are any ‘good repbulicans’ anymore- Sadly, Rand Paul is abotu hte only one with even a modicum of guts- I’m not a paul fan- but my goodness, he at least had the guts to oppose a proposed measure- (although he did vote on htis bill-)
