[F]ive percent of non gay boys had "sexual intercourse" below age 13. 20 percent of gay boys did. In other surveys (for example inner city youths) similar statistics are found.

Seems that these studies also tend to undermine the gay activist meme that homosexuals are born as such, i.e., that homosexuality is determined by genetics rather than environmental factors.

My gut feeling is that the etiology of male homosexuality is a combination of both heredity and environment, and the etiology of female homosexuality is overwhelmingly environmental.

Lesbian activists have piggy-backed their political agenda onto that of male homosexuals, even though the two disorders (yes, I know I'm being politically incorrect) are vastly different in terms of etiology, health risks, and life style. Most lesbians have had some deep-seated problem with an important male figure in their lives and are hostile to the male gender as a whole.

Most homosexual couples (male and female) live up to the stereotype where one is masculine and the other feminine. This is especially true with lesbians - almost every couple consists of a manly, muscle-bound, vest-wearing butch with a crew cut plus a relatively normal-looking girlfriend. I think you can make a case for the more feminine of the pair being what she is because of fear/hatred of men, but I'm utterly convinced that hormones and genetics explain the "butch" of the pair (social environment doesn't explain large hands, thick bones, and deep voices).

I'd guess the same is true for homosexual males, where at least the more effeminate ones are more a product of nature than nurture. Where environment and culture enters the picture is in the more "gender normal" acting ones, who probably could have been functioning heterosexuals under different circumstances.

I don’t know WH you pinged me to this. I get into trouble on homosexuality threads because I believe homosexuality is environmental — from before birth. There is evidence that there is some epigenetic effect on the developing baby, possibly due to all the plastics and other chemical changes in women’s uteri these days.

Anyone is free to disagree with me but watching little children, toddlers, preschoolers play, there is much evidence that some children are born with gender differences. I do not know if masculine girls or effeminate boys all become homosexual at sexual maturity, but many do.

yes, heredity and environment seem to contribute to homosexuality. But in all cultures there are about one percent Homosexuals, so there is a genetic part. And although it is now taboo to mention it, many gay men had a distant relationship with their father (which is why they are vulnerable to being abused since they want a male parent to love them).
