They keep telling you they have noting but good intentions, that to worry about the feds coming for your guns makes you part of “the black helicopter crowd.” But then things like this happen: In Missouri, federal investigators have demanded and obtained from the state government — apparently twice — the entire list of Missouri concealed weapon permit holders.
As Matt Drudge notes, the Columbia Daily Tribune reports that in November 2011 and January 2012, the state highway patrol asked for and received the list of about 185,000 concealed weapon permit holders from the motor vehicle department — the only state agency to store all the names, because an indication that one is a permit holder is noted on driver’s licenses. The information is supposed to be held confidentially by the state, but it was turned over — once on-line, once on a disk — to the highway police, which then proceeded to share it with the federal Social Security Administration Office of Inspector General. State senators trying to get to the bottom of what happened, have been told there was no written request for the information. The state highway patrol says, “The information was provided to law enforcement for law enforcement investigative purposes” — not a very enlightening explanation of why every single licensed concealed weapon owner needed to be investigated by state and federal police.
Rob Schaaf, a Republican state senator who is pursuing the matters summed it up this way: “Now we know two things. We know that somebody out there, probably in the federal government, wants the list of all the concealed carry holders in Missouri. We know that now. We know one other piece of information – we know the [highway patrol] department is actively and purposefully concealing that information from us.”
Silly question.
The feds are trying to identify and track all gun owners everywhere.
Better believe that there’s a plan on the hussein drawing board somewhere to confiscate them ALL.
Denver and Kansas City are the alternate capitols of the United States should anything happen to Washington, DC.
Michael Steele, call your office.
I have no doubt that the same state officials and bureaucrats in the MO Highway Patrol and Department of Revenue would rush in front of the cameras should any of the little people violate a state privacy law. These officials would want to be first to show the public how diligently they are upholding state law and protecting the public.
Over the last few years, we have had far too many cases of the governing class giving themselves a David Gregory while making sure the laws were vigorously enforced for the little people.
It is time for this outrage to end, and we have as good a case as it gets for some indictments and convictions insulting the rights of the citizens, for whom these overlords presume to work. Shame on them, they seem so hell-bent to complete the Socialist Agenda that no law restrains them.
There are some that might like to see that plan tested. ;>)
So they can cross-reference them with HIPAA records later on?
Well, as a smart guy said to me ... so they know you own guns, do you think they will come to get you at home? How dumb is LE (fed or local). Hell no, they will stop you for some reason and find that they need to detain you for some reason and then FEMA camp or something.
Why do they want concealed carry holders ... pretty simple to answer given the above.
You are only paranoid if you don’t really have enemies.
Would love to read it. Can you try again please?
For the same reason that the National Socialists in Germany identified anyone of Jewish ancestry. I know that the people here do not believe that. But neither did the Jews until it was too late.
Looking for Henry Bowman.
More better I hope. ;-)
Thank you for pointing out the problem.
So much for due process. They don’t even pretend that we have any rights anymore.
All they have to do is ask and the Missouri bureaucrats roll over and wag their tails? Where’s the authority for this?
We have to get just as organized as the left and push back. They are pushing on so many different fronts, it's almost making me dizzy.
What's with the Social Security Administration Office of Inspector General getting those names from Missouri? I heard a story from upstate NY via FReepmail. Here:
"A local judge around here suspended a permit because the elderly man accidentally burned his pant leg while starting a fire in the wood stove, on the premise it was a sign of dementia"
Are the feds going to be making presumptive diagnoses of dementia based on age, and then say you're too old to have firearms?
GUN CONTROL LEGISLATION CLEARS HURDLE WITH GOP HELP
Those RINOs must be primaried. Let me know if you want off my list via FReepmail please. This outrage in Missouri needs to be known far and wide, IMHO.
