A secret recording of a campaign strategy session between U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell and his advisors was taped by leaders of the Progress Kentucky super PAC, says a longtime local Democratic operative.
Mother Jones Magazine released the tape this week. The meeting itself took place on Feb. 2.
Jacob Conway, who is on the executive committee of the Jefferson County Democratic Party, says that day, Shawn Reilly and Curtis Morrison, who founded and volunteered for Progress Kentucky, respectively, bragged to him about how they recorded the meeting.
Conway says neither the local nor the state Democratic party had any part in the incident.

Morrison and Reilly did not attend the open house, but they told Conway they arrived later and were able to hear the meeting from the hallway.
They were in the hallway after the, I guess after the celebration and hoopla ended, apparently these people broke for lunch and had a strategy meeting, which is, in every campaign I've been affiliated with, makes perfect sense, says Conway. One of them held the elevator, the other one did the recording and they left. That was what they told to me from them directly.

Before the recording was released, Progress Kentucky ran afoul of the McConnell campaign for another incident. On the PAC's Twitter account, a volunteer criticized McConnell's wife, Elaine Chao, and her ethnicity, saying the Taiwanese-American former Secretary of Labor was complicit in moving jobs to China. Shortly after the tweets became public, Morrison resigned from Progress Kentucky, though he insists another volunteer sent the tweets.

Will be curious how Kentucky law could apply in this situation.
Because of the actions of these radical liberals, it is now expected that Republican senators and other elected GOP officials hold secret campaign strategy sessions in secure facilities like a room without a vented door.
Just confirmed by Fox News Channel. Progress Kentucky planted bugs in Senate building. A Felony under DC law. Names two individuals.
DNC spokesweasle now on Fox. Denying any bugging done by Progress Kentucky or anyone else. However, also reluctantly admitting that perhaps PK was also responsible for smearing McConnell’s wife earlier.
They admitted to a criminal act why aren’t their asses in jail Mr. Holder?
Now back in ol’ Kain tuck they’d a staked ‘em out and turned the dogs loose on ‘em.
Democrats have a lot of ways to get this sort of thing done ~
Sloppiness comes with being in office too long... if these were sensitive conversations, they should have been held in a private place, not near an open door in a public building... as it is, the subject of the conversation getting so much buzz will not be in next year's race... why keep handing ammo to the oppo?
bttt
Both this and the Romney audiotape (47%) were done without consent of at least one participant in the “conversation.” Under Kentucky law, this recording - which was admittedly done from outside the room where the door was closed - should be prosecuted as the felony that it was. Hopefully they will prosecute, and not do like Romney and let it drop.
The D’s are going to argue that “it was audible from the hallway” and thus not protectable. Sorry - anything can be audible from outside the room if you use the right equipment. I don’t think they were sloppy - they closed the door - are they expected to post an armed guard outside?
All the MSM are screeching in unison that the McConnell team's discussion of Ashley Judd was "TASTELESS" and "TACKY," and amounted to a "SMEAR>"
Never mind the fact that all the Judd quotes were Judd's own public utterances (quotes like how people who have children are evil "BREEDERS").
Know what's really tasteless?
Flash back to the MSM's discussion of the birth of Sarah Palin's son, and the absurdly tasteless claims by Andrew Sullivan et al that the baby couldn't be Sarah's son.
And what could be more TASTELESS than Alan Colmes's graphic description of Palin's waters breaking while she gave a speech -- and his excoriation of Palin for "irresponsibly" flying home to Alaska, after her water broke, thus "putting her own baby in danger"? (Quoth Alan Colmes, that well-known gynecologist and neonatal specialist Leftist pundit.)
