COULTER: One thing that I know, because I know people who know her, is when Sarah Palin first burst on the scene, the political scene, she wanted to have a meeting with Palin, because she saw raw political talent, but wanted to teach Sarah Palin to do what she did.
COULTER: To teach her to speak proper English. Palin did not meet with her, and just a year or two ago, when Sarah Palin was promoting some reality show or something, she went to England. And she announced to the press that she was planning on dropping by to see Lady Thatcher, and Lady Thatcher put out the word that she was not available.
COULTER: What, I think, a lot of us saw, that Sarah Palin did have raw political talent. And if she had been willing to put her nose to the grindstone and pursue improving herself, speaking proper English, reading stuff, knowing lots of things, she could have been great. Shes a fine person, but that isnt what shes pursuing. (via MP)
“She speaks perfectly fine”
Sadly that just is not true. Its like listening to fingernails on a chalkboard. In addition her herky jerky delivery takes away from her message.
I never found Sarah hard to understand, Lady Thatcher either.
Mary Matalin and Ol’ Snakehead Carville is just as incongruous a match, but at least they married...
“.........Ann Coulter........comes off as petty and classless....”
*******************************************************************
Nicely put. I do believe that Coulter’s essence has been bubbling to the surface in recent years.
hear hear!
>To teach her to speak proper English.<
.
BS. My English professor, Dr. Zivkovic, in college always told us to speak proper American English and he emphasized “American”.
Ah, but that was sooooo long ago when there was still an America (a.k.a. the USA) and when the people were proud of being part of it.
By the way, Dr. Zivkovic was a Hungarian immigrant who was more proud of his host country than the country of his birth. If I had called him a Hungarian American he would have physically mauled me.
Is Ann working for the left now that no one buys her “if you’ve read one you’ve read them all books” anymore?
More and more, ol’ Ann is reminding me of Maureen Dowd.
It occurs to me that dear Lady Thatcher resembles the original Queen Elizabeth.
It seems these days that the declining fortunes of the attention seekers/news folk are more and more frequently resorting to using Sarah Palin’s name in order to get attention. Funny how that works.
” reading stuff, knowing lots of things,”
Ann, go eat a sammich.
That’s funny because, Coulter’s voice is like listening to fingernails on a chalkboard to me. She speaks with a snotty, nasally voice that drives me nuts. Can’t listen to her.
As for Ann Coulter: Good luck finding a less appropriate subject for discussion on the occasion of Lady Thatcher's death. But I will probably forgive you.
“Palin does indeed seem rather ditzy. She even has the look.”
In your opinion.
I remember when Coulter called Newt Gingrich crazy on Redeye. Now she is denigrating the memory of Thatcher and slamming Palin. I find these attacks quite petty and vicious and I view all of these things as huge red flags.
Of course. But you can’t deny she has none do the same look or demeanor of a Thatcher, and I don’t mean list of accomplishments. Just carriage, eyes, aura.
If its the word I think you are referring to, we are far more likely to use it as a pejorative for a male. Using that word to describe a female (even if she was the very female incarnation of Satan) is widely considered over here to be something only the lowest of the low would do, even in all-male company of the most politically incorrect kind.
Frankly, the only men Ive ever using that word to describe a woman have been Americans in movies or on youtube videos, which would suggest to me that the word is not quite as taboo over there as it is over here, at least not amongst younger males.
Do not forget the disgusting photo of demo-leftist operatives in 2008 proudly showing off T-shirts emblazoned “Palin is a ****” (and the word ain’t “Aunt”).
But you DID say “lowest of the low” so we’re good on that issue...
Although I don’t care for Coulter’s shilling of Myth Romney and Christie, she is kinda right. A polished Palin would have been a powerful force. Margaret Thatcher worked with voice coaches before she become Prime Minister.
Exactly, you beat me to the punch.......
They are completely different women, different culturally, etc, maggie was much older as well........you mentioned that palin wouldn’t last in a debate with MT, well , since they shared the same outlook, that is a moot point.......
Palin is the only legit standard bearer for conservative and or reaganesque legacy.......they made fun of ronnie being just an actor, etc.........
