If we used an EMP over North Korea, would they ever notice?
An EMP over North Korea would knock out all of their electrical systems, computers, missile commands, and probably any subs they have.
Their military structure, if I remember correctly, is much like the Soviets and Red Chinese, strict Command and Control from the top. This makes them vulnerable to an EMP even more so than it would American military commands and units who are taught to act on their own with a very well known command structure still in place and Force Mission plans spread throughout them.
Unless the No. Koreans watched “Independence Day” and “Live Free or Die Hard” (where both the telegraph/Morse code and CB radios still functioned on lower wave bands/frequencies, they would not be able to mount a well timed/coordinated attack on the US or even So. Korea (except for their forces on the DMZ who know what targets they are to hit in the first few momements of an attack.
What we need to do is what the US did in “Independence Day”, put a virus into their military computer systems to crash it upon any hostilities. Coupled with even a small EMP, their C3 system would be toast.
Then, hopefully, we would make their military and political facilities “nuclear toast”
However, with Commissar Obama, Gen. Dempsey and Secy Hagel in charge of our forces, I’m afraid that the No. Koreans would inflict serious casualties and damage on So. Korea, Japan and perhaps Taiwan, which would include many American losses.
We had our chances years ago to eliminate the psychostate of No. Korea but did nothing. Just like Iran today, it is probably too late to defang them.
Or, as Obama would say, “Yes we didn’t”.
For sure the Traffic Cops would notice, but most of the vehicles would be recovered fairly easily, unlike our computerized contraptions.
automobiles, motorcycles, television, radio, all electronics would cease to work.... Unless it was EMP harden!!!
Ah, that's their tactic. They are not vulnerable.
