Well said, vette. I'm another native Californian (since the 40's) who is becoming increasingly disgusted with the California hate. Oh, I, too, hate what California's become, but to blame it on the natives is at best naive. We've been inundated by wave after wave of newcomers in the last few decades -- everyone from hippies looking for the fabled Haight-Ashbury to those disgruntled by the politics of their own states to illegal border-crossers.

Look at an election map of California. Aside from the San Francisco Bay, Los Angeles and San Diego areas, California is almost entirely a red state. Those are the areas where the newcomers congregate. (Heck, when I moved down to Los Angeles in the 60's, I didn't meet one single native older than elementary school age.)

Now take a look at a recent Texas election map to see the same pattern emerging. Big city areas (Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, Austin) all went for Obama. Those same people (and now their sons and daughters) came to California, trashed it, and are moving on. So stay vigilant, pay close attention to your local and district elections, and please stop trashing those of us who have chosen to stay in our native state to fight as best we can.

Your #35 posting is a very good description of what has happened to CA and some other States!

I’m a Natural Born Texan, with ancestors going back to the 1820s when it was Mexico. The BLUE colors appearing on the Texas map along the Rio Grande, Houston, Austin, Dallas and San Antonio are reflective of the influx of illegal aliens’ influence on the politicians in those areas who suck anything for votes. The effect of the influence of the illegals and liberals in CA should gather more attention of Conservatives in Texas and other States, so that deliberate opposition can be put forth.

Man... Sorry for that off topic rant. .....Bring the gun and ammo mfrs. to Texas! We welcome the jobs and we’ll buy the products.
