Fortunately for America, Hillary appears to be in fairly poor overall health herself.

Lately the drive by shootings in Chicago have been killing more 6 year old girls this year, instead of the usual 5 year olds we saw a year ago. This is 20% improvement.

We may as well throw our hands in the air and ask, “What difference, at this point, does it make?”

This is a stupid study. They are talking about suffering etc. They are saying it will break your heart. There are many problems with the survey. It appears to be a political document rather than a scientific document.

1. Americans are a highly mobile population. Most people don't live in the same place their whole lives. The women in a given county at the beginning of the survey period are not the same women at the end of the survey period.

2. The period of the survey was a period of high levels of immigration. Women at the end of the survey period were not even in America at the beginning of the survey period.

3. There is no accounting for lifestyle issues. Nothing about smoking, drug use etc.

4. There is no accounting for socioeconomic level of the women.

5. There is no accounting for genes and their influence on lifespan. There is no comparison of women's lifespan and their parent's lifespan.

5. It is assumed that there is some flaw in the medical care available in the U.S. The assumption in the write up is medical care for women has gotten worse.

The only thing that breaks my heart about this is the researchers dishonesty.

“Well, there’s a perfectly good explanation: the Republican party lies to the poor and less-educated white portion of the population and persuades them to vote for policies that are extremely detrimental to them. The main trick is to blow the “I don’t want my taxes going to _them_” dog whistle.”

This was from the comments on the article. This is clearly a phony study to promote a political agenda.

Workplace stress?

This may indicate that, after all, a woman’s place is in the home.

“especially those with the least education”. Sounds like more money will be dumped into educating the non educatable Just take a look at where mortality rates are celebratory, ny, california, massachusettes, vermont, connecticut and new hampshire. WOW these rats are really doing a great job for women in these democratically controlled strongholds

The change in mortality rate which is nothing more than deaths per 100,000 would be expected to increase as the distribution of the population continues to shift to an older population.
Therefore it is typical of the political scientist to draw conclusions from a statistic which is taken out of context and is in wrong as to the cause. Political scientist all have a political agenda.

"Think about it for a minute. We are the richest and most powerful country in the world," Clinton said. "Yet many American women today are living shorter lives than their mothers, especially those with the least education. That is a historic reversal that rivals the decline in life expectancy for Russian men after the disintegration of the Soviet Union."

Mrs. Clinton, what difference does it make?

This does not surprise me at all...

"least education" is semantics for school drop out, baby mommas, obese, smoking, Cheetos munching, Mountain Dew big gulp guzzling women of all races...who can't cook a healthy decent meal if their life depending on it

They are just waiting to be a health train wreck later in life...dying early and an expensive death..

the huge number of children born out of wedlock (72%?)indicates that lifestyle is a contributing factor.

Government handouts and unemployment benefits and government employment are in the blue counties. The red ones are the ones footing the bills. No wonder the stress levels are rising.

The mortality rate for men is almost always higher than that of women, but this seems to escape these researchers

No doubt, this is the Republicans’ fault. When Hillary runs, she will promise eternal life to all women who vote for her. And she’ll win because there are so many pathetically gullible women in the USA.

You can thank feminism for that. These days a woman has to be mother, father, sole provider for too many families. Often with NO emotional support from anyone.
