Connecticut store that sold gun to Newtown shooter's mom loses license From ASSOCIATED PRESS Last Updated: 3:05 PM, April 5, 2013 Posted: 9:15 AM, April 5, 2013 NEW HAVEN, Conn. A shop that sold a gun to the Newtown school shooter's mother has lost its federal firearms license.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives revoked the license of Riverview Gun Sales in East Windsor in December. The agency, which confirmed the revocation to reporters Thursday, didn't say why.
Authorities raided the store for undisclosed reasons shortly after the December school shootings in which Adam Lanza killed 20 first-graders and six adults at Sandy Hook Elementary School. He also shot to death his mother, Nancy, at their home. Authorities say he fired 154 shots with a Bushmaster .223-caliber rifle inside the school, then killed himself with a Glock handgun.

Define lost.... Stolen? Misplaced?
If this information is true, and I say IF, it would probably constitute a valid reason to close.
>> Everyday I read something like this and think, how can they do that?
Jack booted douche bags killed a vet in front of his wife and kids on suspicion of... weed? The hair-trigger idiots fired 71 rounds.

Would it make sense in a gun store that it be required to release the door before customers could leave, kind of like my post office at 5:03 pm.
“Everyday I read something like this and think, how can they do that?”
Easy. They have all the bullets.
My brother had a FFL and let it go because he came to the same conclusion, and that was nearly 30 years ago. I can only imagine what a nightmare the regs are now.
Like most of the queries we have with this terrible massacre...we’ll probably never know what really happened.
And this Jordan Marsh connection is most puzzling. Some have theorized that he was a second shooter in Newtown.
I’m convinced we’ll never know the truth.
Collective guilt. Wonder how long it’ll be before it’s applied to family members.
ATF and big brother got away with Ruby Ridge and Waco, so what do you they care about unjustly revoking some licenses. I bet if you asked them, they’d probably say he’s lucky that’s all they did.
The day is coming.
That’s an amazing account. I’ve been in a lot of gun shops and never been in one that allowed a customer to have possession of a weapon without a clerk watching his every move. When it gets crowded people simply have to wait their turn because no clerks divide their attention to more than a single customer at a time.
Allowing an environment where there is such an ability to shoplift weapons - especially rifles - shows criminal negligence IMO.
“Ive been in a lot of gun shops and never been in one that allowed a customer to have possession of a weapon without a clerk watching his every move.”
When purchasing my last rifle, I could have swung it like a battle axe on the gun clerk helping me.
Maybe we should create a law prohibiting citizens from even touching a weapon before a background check and ten day waiting period is completed? /s
"New store, new name, same great service."
I agree with you rockrr. The times I’ve been in there the owner is off to the side, at his desk, BS’n with someone or
on the phone or messin’ with his dog. Not paying a lick of attention to the clientele. Based on what I’ve read and heard from others who frequent the shop ...his *style* of indifference, call it nonchalance, is what did him in.
Unchecked power by consent of the ignorant and apathetic governed.
Supposedly stolen.
We know for a fact that December 14th was a very happy day for the leftist subhuman vermin.
They spent most of the day thinking about how to get away with shutting down gun stores and just about no seconds thinking about the deceased or their families.
The other question: Who let someone with a rifle into the school? This school was supposed to have tight security. Too many mixed up “facts”.
They first came for the Jew . . .
I wasn’t a Jew so it was no concern of mine.
Then . . .
It’s the new Amerika. Land of the formerly free.
No laws required.
