It wouldn’t be just Houston and burbs. And there’d be no power company trucks driving in from Arizona, Tennessee, Kentucky or Florida to fix Y’all.

Houston didn’t fix its power all by itself after Ike. And South Mississippi didn’t after Katrina either. I saw convoys of power trucks from states as far away as Montana and Idaho.

If it weren’t for that concerted effort (Thanks again y’all!) we’d probably still be fixing Katrina damage.

And you knew Ike was coming and prepared. How many of your neighbors have a weeks worth of clean water right this minute? What about the other suburbs? What about the EBT card holders?

Naa. Don’t believe it. One EMP is not going to take out
the whole US. Most buildings are grounded. Most power sustems
have shunt trip and CT breakers. There are fuses at every
transformer on the pole. A car is basically a faraday cage
and prety much EMP proof. As far as the out of state help,
like New York, Centerpoint is a union outfit and wouldn’t
let any locals help. They had to buss in union only. And they weren’t much help any way. Maybe knocked a couple of
weeks off but not much.
Like I said, maybe a 100 EMP’s but not just one.
