Florida. except a 1911, as a carry, would be uncomfortable.

If you want open space and low humidity, you need to pick some state west of the Rockies. Utah is beautiful and 27 out of 28 of their sheriff’s have signed on to protect the 2A. The Mormons are decent folks and will leave you alone.

You simply can’t beat Oklahoma for people. Summer is too hot, winter is too cold, spring is too cold and too hot, fall is perfect. Friendly to gun owners. Reddest state in the Union (all 77 counties have vote R in the last three Presidential elections) Let’s see.... We have college football and the OKC Thunder. Kansas City and Dallas are close. Low cost of living, low crime, low traffic. It’s just a good place to live.

We are looking too, planning our move next year. I just want heat, guns, and zero state income tax. Texas has lost the cities to Cali, so that is a no. We are thinking Arizona. I would love to live on the Gulf coast, but the crime rates are through the roof. I still think we should colonize Cuba. But I love heat. Washington State is looking like a serious contender as well. Utah and Idaho are too chilly for us after such a long long winter. Keep us posted on what you find.

I moved from Fairfield County to the DFW (Dallas-Fort Worth) metroplex in 2011. The heat feels great on my old bones. The weather is much less humid than CT.

Everything is cheaper except sales tax, and there's no income tax. Business is exploding, the housing market is half the price of CT for the same or better amenities, and people are generally very conservative as well as tolerant.

Our governor seems a little kooky sometimes, but he minds Texas business and he's the opposite of Malloy. The roads are designed by people with brains and finished in a year instead of 10 years, and the amount of open space is mind-boggling.

It snowed last Christmas. Texas has reciprocal pistol permit laws.

Do it! Send me a FReepmail if you want more detailed info.

Preferably somewhere warmer, but not sweltering

Good News! We have invented Air Conditioning and learned to ice down the beer before serving.

Come on down. Bring a snow shovel with you. You can mount it on the side of the garage and your neighbors will ask what that is.

If you really want to get them laughing, bring out the 8 hp track-drive snow blower and tell them what you paid for it.

Coastal Virginia or North Carolina and Springfield XD 40. I like my Glock but love the XD.
Stay outside of the major cities even in these states and you'll wonder why you took so long to make the move.

I live in Central Texas near Hill Country. I love the freedom I feel here, but the heat is real bad 4 months out of the year.

If I were not here, I would probably want to move to Northern Arizona or Idaho.

I have been to Arizona and love it there. I have never been to Idaho, but I have heard a lot of great things about it.

How do you like your SR1911? It looks like a very nice pistol.

Rural Southern Indiana is one of the greatest places on Earth. But so was New Hampshire, once.

Accordingly, all disaffected Easterners are encouraged to visit on your way through to live somewhere else.

I would suggest AZ, but the place has gotten so watered down with New England transplants we have more Dem reps than GOP. I have no representative...I have a Dem who’s a self-described radical prog who’s bisexual. The Stupid Party got rolled by the Dems on the redistricting commission.

Overseas is not off the table.

It should be if you intend to take your firearms.......

While a number of countries claim to approve of firearm ownership, you might be better off trying to obtain a CPL in Chicago........

I'd avoid central and south America like the plague, with the exception of Panama and Belize. All the rest are falling to drug lords, drug trafficing and kidnappings.......

If you're interested in Honduras, my brother-in-law has 15 acres with 400 ft. of ocean frontage along the coast in Trujillo for sale..........
