They are not “weapons of war” AT ALL.

The U.S. military has not fielded a semi-auto-only rifle since WW2.

The semi-auto-only AR-15 was NEVER used by the U.S. military, only the full-auto select-fire M-16 and M-4.

The semi-auto-only civilian AR-15 “sporter” has been available for civilian purchase for a half century.

The AR-15 has NEVER been a “weapon of war.”

Government kills! Governments have killed hundreds of millions of innocent citizens. Communism, fascism, statism, totalitarianism, tyrannical dictators and rulers kill!!

Our Founders knew and understood this. They rebelled against tyrannical rule and established a system of government that recognized our individual rights come from God and set it up so that there can never be a tyrannical ruler over us. And they ensured that our God-given right to be armed in defense against any possible future tyrannical takeover attempt by wannabe dictators will be put down by we the people. From that day forward, the statists and control freaks among us (the domestic enemy within, ie, traitors) have been trying to disarm us. This will never happen.

Freedom loving Americans will never surrender their arms to tyrannical government. History shows what happens to defenseless citizens when they do.

Government kills defenseless people on a massive scale!!

We shall never surrender!!

Barack Obama is a communist and wannabe dictator!!

FUBO!!

Just about every rifle and pistol designed has been offered to the military. Some were accepted some were tried and rejected, some were used only for a short term.

All were then offered to the PUBLIC.

Did you know that back in the 1920s the US Springfield or Rock Island arsenal was manufacturing a version of the 1903 Springfield for public use as a hunting rifle?

They were later told to desist as they were competing with public gun makers.

From the 1700s up till 1956 the average citizen was better armed than the US army soldier.

I have a 2-barreled Savage rifle with a 12-guage barrel and a .223 (5.56mm) barrel. Is it a weapon of war?

The weapons that are mentioned in the Second amendment are “weapons of war”. The purpose of the Second Amendment is to protect the population from an overbearing and overreaching government. Therefore as a protection of the rights of the people to throw off the chains of a government out of control. the weapons would be simply weapons of a civil war.

To try to ban “assault weapons” is a direct violation of the Oath of Office, in an attempt to overthrow the limitations of Government illegaly.

Ie, an invalidation of the right of a person who took the oath to make laws at best, and treason at worst. In either extreme, any laws in direct violation of the plain text meaning of the wording of the amendment are null and void. Despite any justification or reasoning to circumvent the Constitution by any black robed "Justices".

Since an assault rifle is a fully automatic firearm, then I would say yes, it was made for war.

The only thing preventing the citizens from owning tanks and heavy munitions IS the IMPLIED agreement between the citizens and milliraty RE: posse comitatus that the millitary WILL NEVER BE USED DIRECTLY AGAINST THE CITIZENS WITHIN THE BORDERS OF THE UNITED STATES.

The citizens should be able to own any firearm that is owned by the forces that INTERFACE with them on a daily basis, such as any sorta equipment that the Local Police, county sheriff, state police.

If the Millitary EVER violate Posse Comitatus, then I would say the citizenry have the implied RIGHT to ANY millitary equipment that the Army/Nave/Marines/Air Force/Coast Guard/etc... have. This should be seen as a re-inforcement factor to keeping Posse Comitatus intact.... Because violating it opens the can of worms saying the citizens can start stocking up on howitzers and nuclear warheads.

At least that is my interpretation on HOW IT SHOULD BE!!!

I should be able to own anything that’s not considered to be a crew-served weapon.

The Term “Assault Weapon” is weasel words.
They can change the definition at will, and that is just what they are doing to us.

Pali’s use assault rocks all the time.

The title's question is irrelevant (and as straw man as they get). The 2A does not distinguish between types of "arms".

Sure, the Founding Fathers never envisioned nukes or the like, but the only way, Constitutionally, to keep them from civilians is to amend the Constitution.

Libs need to STFU with their false interpretations of 2A.

You don’t like it? Introduce an amendment repealing it then. That would at least be honest.

Up until urban anarchists ruined things and opened the door for big government Democrats to control weapons - everything was available to Americans.

Now our government doesn’t protect our liberty, but us. And to do that you need to suppress liberty. Liberty is dangerous.
