The ammo market has been hijacked by ammo dealers who are selling it for 4-5x normal prices.

As long as there are people will to pay $800 for 1000 rounds of 9mm ... Dicks, Walmart, et. al. will struggle to get ammo.

This is also my experience. Can find whatever I need online. The real question is how much am I willing to pay for it? Gunbot.net is a good source to monitor for reasonable deals, but if you don't act quickly the lowest priced ammo is out of stock in moments.
